Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5SR5
Operating System: winXP/linux

I know that this has allready been asked for many times, but there has never been a response from the people at originlab. I would like to know if there is any intention of porting Origin to Linux. I'm not asking for a free version, just a version that works on Linux. I don't see why this hasn't been done before as a huge proportion of the scientific community uses Linux boxes for their research. To the best of my knowledge, there really isn't anything comparable to Origin on Linux, and so it could only be good buiseness for the kind folks at OriginLab.

It would be nice to hear something back from Originlab, one way or another. Thanks!

Hi quickkk,

Thank you for the comments. At this point in time, it would be a lot of work on our part to port Origin to cross-platform, and so we do not have any near future plans on doing this. But it is probable that we will create a free Origin Viewer that will work on Linux and Mac OS X which can be used to view OPJs created on Windows platform.
