Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin 7.0G
Operating System: WinXP SP2

I could not add the following characters"[,],{,}" onto the graph page via text tool or right mouse click (add text). I tried to insert these characters using "Alt Gr" key. However, within the Code Builder all the characters are available. How can I get access to the characters via keyboard?

Hi Carsten,

This is a curious problem. As Mike Buess suggests, it could be a problem of the default Text Tool font not having the characters that you seek. Note that the Text Tool and Code Builder do not necessarily use the same font. I would check Tools:Options>Text Fonts>Text Tool>Font to see what the default Text Tool font is.

Mike, thank you for your quick reply. I can confirm your comments. Using "my" Origin system all things works well. But I was writing for a workmate. He is using Origin 7.0G. I tried to find out what are the differences between our two systems but I could not find any. To get access to this kind of brackets in his office programs and also within the Origin Code Builder, Worksheet script and Script window is not a problem. But in case of Add Text on a graph page I fail.

Hi Carsten,

Not sure what's happening because I have no problem with those characters in Origin 7.0E SR4. Copying (Ctrl+C) the characters from your post, right-click+Add Text and paste (Ctrl+V) worked fine. Entering the characters one at a time from the keyboard also worked. Perhaps the problem is with your font selection. (I use Arial.)
