I have a data matrix and would like to create a colour Image Plot.
When I look at the matrix in Image Mode I can choose a palette and the image will change its colour according to the palette setting. If I choose Plot:Profiles these will also be in the same colours. But when I choose Plot: Image Plot I just get a grey scale plot.
The help file suggests that the Image Plot will have the same colours as in the matrix display but this is not the case.
So my question is: How can I select the palette for the Image Plot?
Thank you very much, Michael |

I didn't know that you can set a start and end colour by clicking on the "Fill" button and didn't want to change 256 values by hand. But so it is easy and all I need.

Right now there is no way to apply the palette that you chose for the image view to the image plot of the data.
However you can double-click on the image plot and in the Plot Details dialog, set a color map. The number of levels is restricted to 256 and linear, and you can pick start and end colors and create a color map just like one does with contour plots.
Our documentation on this was wrong - thanks for pointing this out.
