I don't have much experience using Origin and i have a problem. I have exported my data from excel and i need to calculate the area under the curve using the "Integrate Function" but i can't, Origin just integrates the curve but i can get the area (do i have to change some options)?? .... any suggest?? thank you very much..

Posted - 07/27/2005 : 11:17:01 AM Hi Omar,
Here's what you do:
1. Plot your data. 2. Use the Data Selector tool (Tools toolbar) to define that portion of the curve under which you want to calculate the area (the way this tool works, when you select the toolbar button, a data marker will appear at either end of your plot. Drag the marker on the left to the left-most point on the segment of interest, then drag the right-most marker to the right-most point on this segment and double click on that point. This will "set" the markers. 3. Now, just choose Analysis:Calculus>Integrate.

Posted - 07/27/2005 : 06:52:46 AM The area is given by the labtalk property integ.area. If you run the command from the menus (Analysis > Calculus > Integrate) the result will also appear in the Results log window.
