Origin Version 7.5 SR5:
Operating System: Windows XP

I could not set the major tick labels on either axes, which are not linearly or logarithmly. I want to do something like:

1 9 18 17 100 206 340 350.
If i use cutom tick labels, I can set 1 and 350 at the end, but can't use the above between them.

Anybody could help about this? Any command through scrip window would also be appreciated. Thanks

REZA

Hi REZA,
I am sure that the 2nd method in the article works with minor modifications:
1. Assume the name of your worksheet window is "Data1".
2. New a column (C), and enter your custom labels: 1 9 18 17 100 206 340 350.. (must in increasing order).
3. When your graph window is active (again, assume the graph is in Layer 1), run the following command in script window:
layer1.x.ticksbydata$=Data1_C;
4. Using Tick Labels tab of X Axis Layer1 dialog box, set: Type = Tick Index Dataset, and Dataset = Data1_C.

I think, it is not what I am looking for.
I just want to change the major tick MARKS' position, but it should represent the actual position ( NOT the tick labels only)
