I apply a plot mechod of "line+symbol", when using "\l(1) XXX (something like this --¡õ--)" to note the symbol, the line connecing the symbol is a little bit longer for my case, may I make it shorter(like this -¡õ-)?

Thanks
Younger

Hi Younger2008:

I'm not sure that I quite understand what you are asking. If you merely want to change the line style of your line + symbol plot, you do this from the Line tab in Plot Details (Format:Plot > Line > Style ).

If you are trying to shorten the distance between plot symbols -- in effect, increasing the density of plotted points -- there's no way to do that short of increasing the number of points in your dataset. To look at it in another way, a line + symbol plot is really a scatter plot with lines connecting the data points -- nothing more. So, it is the density of data points in your dataset that determines the spacing between the symbols.

I hope this helps.

Hi Mike,
That's not what I mean. I want ro reduce the length of the line that connects the symbol. From this (¡ª¡õ¡ª) to this (-¡õ-).

Thanks
Younger

Hi Younger,

I'm not sure if this is what you mean but it's easy to try...

Plot Details, select dataplot, go to Line properties and check the 'Gap to Symbol' option.
