Hello,
I have two sets of datas with latitude, longitude and a number representing an information. I created a map with the information given by one set of data and an other map with the information given by the other set of data.
However, I would like superimpose the two set of datas on one map. Do you know how can I do this ?

Hi Meryll,
If my instructions below do not help, please send your project file to tech@originlab.com. If the file is too large please zip the file and then send it. With your data, I will be able to send you exact directions.
This is an example:
1. Plot the map contour plot
2. Right Click the number 1 in the top left corner of the graph.
3. Select Layer Contents.
4. In the left panel select your second dataset and Select the Arrow Key. To move the dataset into the right panel for Layer1.
5. Make sure the second dataset plot type is contour.
6. Select Apply
7. If you do not see the second contour graph plotted on top of the other graph, then you may need to sort the datasets in the group within the layer contents.
8. In Layer Contents with the two datasets listed already on the right hand side, Select the arrow button at the top of the right panel to reorganize the order of the datasets. Select Apply
It seems in your graph you will want to have the top contour plot slightly transparent. You can do this by double clicking the graph to open the plot details dialog. In the Colormap/Contours -> Use the transparency scroll or input transparency value. Select apply to view changes.
Note: you may need to change other settings like for example within the plot details dialog-> Select Colormap/Contours. For Fill the color that is the minimum level color select None and for the level with the maximum value select the fill color as none.

Hello Aviel,
I tried to use the Google Map App but after the downloading of the Google Map import.opx, Origin said "This package requires Origin 9.5 SR0 or later". But I have a student version of 2017.
Do you know what can I do ?

To show both contour plots on one graph is exactly what I try to do.
I already did this on Illustrator and I send you an example but I would like to do on Origin for more precision.

Hi Meryll,
It is still not clear to me what exactly you want to do with your data. Because you are plotting two contour plots, if you overlay both plots then you will only be able to view one of the datasets. Are you looking to plot a contour plot where one of the datasets shows the fill contour and the other dataset shows the line contour? Are you hoping to show both contour plots on one graph at different axes? ie. https://www.originlab.com/doc/Tutorials/Multi-3DSurf-in-Layer
What I am trying to figure out is how do you want to show the two datasets on one map?

For google maps app you can plot a map and add the data as a line/scatter/bar plot.

I tried to do two contour plots with my lat, long and data. But the result is not very good and with one of these datas, I have not been able to have the boundaries.
Can you also remember me how can I superimpose my data with google maps app ?

Hi Meryll,
Are you using the google maps App to create a map with data? Or when you say map you are plotting two scatter plots with latitude and longitude and then colormap the data with the values? or are you making two contour plots with your lat, long, and data?
Most likely you will want to merge the graphs.

Make sure number of rows and number columns are set to 1 so that the graphs are overlay.
