Thank you |

Posted - 08/18/2005 : 10:33:45 AM Hi,
There is a Fit Comparison tool in v7.5 that compares two datasets by fitting them with one function.
On our File Exchange area there is a tool that allows you to fit two different functions to a single dataset and compare the results: http://www.originlab.com/FileExchange/details.aspx?fid=64
In both of the above, there is something in common - either the fitting function or the dataset. Thus it is possible to compute a p-valye/F-value etc to make a statistical statement comparing the two.
If I understand correctly, you have two datasets and you are fitting each with a different function. In such a case I am not sure if it is even possible in such a case to make a statistical statement comparing the two fits using p-/F-value, other than simply looking at the R-Sqr or Chi-Sqr values from each fit and making a qualitative statement such as "fit 1 seems to be better than fit 2"?
