Sorry for disturbing once more. Here (in my institution) we always have to produce a line graph with a shadow, showing the error interval.
I mean we have three columns of data: x, y and y-error and we have to plot the error as a shadow/bar along the line graph. What one usually does here is to plot three line graphs (the original one, + error, - error) and to manually fill the gap in Photoshop. I am just wondering if there would be an elegant way to do the same in Origin?

 Alexander.

Yes, you do need to make the columns that are y+err and y-err.

So if you have the columns in wks such
 col A: x values
 col B: y values
 col C: y error values
then add two cols such that
 col D: y - yerr
 col E; y + yerr

Once you set up the columns, then to make the plot, you can do the following:
1> highlight cols D, C and use menu Plot->Fill Area
2> double-click on the plot to open Plot Details and change the Line color to be same as fill pattern color (so that the top border does not show up as a separate color)
3> then move col B data into the same layer as a line plot

Still, I must produce 3 columns (original trace, trace + error and trace - error) in order to be able to use "Fill Area" graph. Is it somehow possible to produce a similar "interval graph" using only one Y and one Y-error-bar columns?
