The default color for gridlines is colors 3 and 4 on the color palette. Is there a way, such as altering the ini file, to change the default colors for the grid lines to some other number in the color palette.
In addition, if I change my color palette, and someone else opens my project, are the colors for the grid lines that the other user sees identical to what I see when I created the project? How about the colors on graphs?

Grid line colors and styles -- like other Axis dialog box settings -- are saved with the graph template file (File: Save Template As). To find out more about what is saved with the graph template file, see this Help file topic:
The Graph: Basics>Graphs: Windows and Templates> Attributes Saved with a Graph Template
I would advise against modifying your color palette. If you change it, any graph that you pass off to a colleague will likely not look the same.
