Hey!

I have rather trivial question about linear fitting in Origin 5.0 .
When you are use linear fitting in Origin you can state diffrent errors bars for diffrent points. I wonder is standard deviation (SD)calculated by Origin for that kind of fitting (with diffrent errors bars) include those diffrent errors or just use fixed error?

Regards,
Hubert

Hello Hubert,

In Origin5.0, the calculation of standard deviation (and standard error) has taken error bars (but not the "fixed error) into account. You can refer to Origin help documentation for detailed formulas etc.
