I got a serious problem with fitting selected data in plot - the data in X isn't sorted and if I want to fit the points ranging ,let's say, from 300 to 1200 [in values], then Origin fits the data ranging from specific row to another - in that case I assume that not all points in range (300,1200) are fitted.

Hi,

I am afraid to tell you that Linear Fit function does not support to fit the discontinuous data segment.

If you do not want to sort the datasets, I suggest you can try the mask tool to mask the data range you do not want to fit.

Refer to this help page about masking data in Graphs:
https://www.originlab.com/doc/User-Guide/Data-Analysis#Data_Masking

You can press "Space" key to change to "Mask data points by rectangular region”, then it could easy to select the range not need in the fitting.

Then when fitting the whole range of the graph, it will exclude the masked points.

Thanks
Jacqueline
