I want to make (temperature) contours using cylindrical coordinates. I have the values for Height, radius(constant), and Theta against the temperature values. I have downloaded the graph function and hooked into the originpro. But I am not getting the desired results.
As shown in the picture, I have results for flat surface I want to wrap it i.e. convert into in cylindrical shape as shown on the right side.
Please let me know how to arrange data.
thank you

ahmad

Hi,

OriginLab has posted a new blog for this, check this:

Hi ahmad_xjtu,

Here is an addendum:

The function of a cylinder is:
x(u,t)=r*sin(t)
y(u,t)=r*cos(t)
z(u,t)=u
for "File: New: Function Plot: 3D Parametric Function Plot" menu. (You give the value of r for radius.)
Double-click the plot to show the Plot Details dialog, and press "Matrix" button to open the matrix book.
Create the 4th matrix object there for the contour data, and you can assign the 4 matrices as Castiel
suggested.

Hope this helps.

Create the cylinder as 3D parametric plot and fill piece by piece using your data or fill contour from matrix of your data.
