Posted - 08/16/2018 : 10:59:13 PM I'm currently having an issue with the Non-Linear Curve Fit function in OriginPro 8. I have a plot which consists of multiple curves, and I would like to perform a Gaussian distribution fit for each individual curve.
To start, I set the desired data set to Active, and highlight it by clicking its points on the plot. However, whenever I go to Non-Linear Curve Fit dialogue box, I'm met with "Error during compilation for parameters init."
Furthermore, in the Messages tab, there are four messages, all of which read "User has changed function. Iteration is reset and count is reset to 0."
I thought that potentially uninstalling and reinstalling the program would fix this issue, but it has not resolved it. Any help towards solving this problem would be a great deal of help! Thank you! |

Posted - 08/20/2018 : 02:16:49 AM Hi,
Sorry, we can't reproduce the problem here with the description.
Would you please send us the project file and function file(FDF file) to let us check the problem here, via:tech@originlab.com?
Please also provide the serial number of your Origin.
Thanks, Shirley

Posted - 08/17/2018 : 09:16:04 AM Hi Shirley,
I'm not sure what you mean by "click twice on the target plot". If I double-click the data set I want to fit, it just takes me to the Plot Details menu.
I also do not know how to check the input branch for the fit. All I know is that when I go into the fitting menu, I only have one active data set, and that active data set's points selected. I can't see how this would mean I have a group of curves as an input.
Not sure if this helps, but this is still an issue if I try to select the data I want to fit from the actual spreadsheet itself. If I select the two columns (X and Y) of data I want to fit, I get the same "Error during compilation for parameters init.".
Thank you for your quick response though! |

Posted - 08/17/2018 : 02:47:28 AM Hi Prichardson,
I am wondering whether you have selected a single curve or a group of curves as input. You can check the input branch to verify this.
To select a single plot in Origin 8, you need click twice on the target plot.
Please let me know if still problem.
Thanks, Shirley
