Hi,
I will be really grateful if someone could tell me how to do the grouped floating-columns on the Origin. Basically, I want something similar to an example plot from https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/37155/floating-column-chart/ shown below; the floating columns need to be next to each other on the same index of horizontal axis.

Hi,
It seems you have more than two layers in the merged graph. Make sure you only merge two floating bar plots. If it's not the issue, please send your file to <tech@originlab.com> for us to check further.

Hi James,
Many thanks! I've got the plot, though the columns are not centred as shown below (there are only 2 columns per each index). Is there anyway to fix it?

Hi,
Please follow the following steps:
1. Make four graphs of floating column plot on individual data.
2. Open Merge Graph Windows dialog, make sure four graphs are selected, set rows*cols as 1*1, check Link Source Graphs, click OK.
3. Open Plot Details dialog for the new merged window, select Layer2 on left panel, go to Link Axes Scales tab, set X Axis and Y Axis Link as Straight 1 to 1. Repeat this for Layer3 and Layer4.
4. Go to Page level - Layers tab, check Column/Bar/Box Gap Across Layers, click OK.
