Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:

Hi,

I am new to Origin, and see it as a very useful tool for my work, however I am having a bit of a hard time figuring out some really basic stuff.

I have two simple XY line plots. I want the x axis scale dimensions and start and end point to be the same. I want the Y axis scale to be the same on both, but with different start and end points. The second plot is now running from 0 to 1500 on the Y axis, however when I edit the scale to run from 0 to 400 the whole plot resizes and messes up my correlation to the second XY plot. How do I change this in a simple way withput resizing and stretchimg the plot?

Hi Deltron,

Would you please check the settings in the "Link Axes Scales" tab? You can double-click on the graph to open the Plot Details dialog, and then select Layer2 in the left panel, then you can check the settings in the "Link Axes Scales" tab.

In your case, I suppose that you have linked the Y Axis of layer 2 to that of layer 1. If so, please set Y axis Link to be None as below.

Please let me know if any problem.

Thanks,
Shirley
