OriginPro 2018G

b9.5.0.193

Windows 7, 64 bit, 8 Gb RAM

Hi there,

i have a problem with the amount of RAM Origin needs. I work with ImageJ for static image Analysis. The .txt files i import to Origin are about 30 to 50 mb (until 2,5E6 lines and 16 rows) big. After analysis and all the operations i need, the saved .opj data-files become about 1,5 GB and bigger. When i try to add other projects to those files, origin needs the full 8 GB of RAM. Every time i add, save or close origin my PC crashes. Is this normal while working with those amounts of data or can i solve this problem somehow?

Thank you for your Answers!

Johannes

Hi,

There was an issue in Origin 2018 whereby, in specific conditions, project files could grow to very large sizes unexpectedly. It was fixed in Origin 2018b.

We just released 2019b. Perhaps you can upgrade to the new version or at least to Origin 2018b.

If, after upgrading, you don't see your OPJU file size decrease, send an email to tech@originlab.com and refer to this post. I have a small utility that will help reduce the file size.

Thanks,
Chris Drozdowski
