Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Win XP

Is it possible to either of the following (Origin 7.5)?

1. individually set the fill pattern for pie chart data points, or
2. increment the fill pattern for pie charts

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks Mike,

I guess I'll go with grayscale rather than patterns. I think it will look fine.

Hi Chris:

I can think of no way to do what you are asking. The best that I can offer is a method for making a black and white pie chart:

  1. Make a standard pie chart.
  2. With the pie chart active, select Format:Plot.
  3. Select the Pattern tab, click the Fill Color button, then choose Color Mapping and select the dataset (column) that corresponds to your Y dataset. This adds a Color Map tab to the pie chart's Plot Details dialog box.
  4. On the Color Map tab of Plot Details, click the Level heading. In the Set Levels dialog box, select the Num. of Levels radio button, enter the number of slices in your pie chart in the text box and click OK.
  5. Click on the Fill heading. In the Fill dialog box, select Limited Mixing and set From to Black and To to White. Click OK.

I hope that this helps.

Mike
