Posted - 07/11/2019 : 05:30:32 AM Hi,
I'm working with Origin project files in which I merge data from different Origin "source" files to one "all data" file. So far, I simply append the data from the "source" files. However, I sometimes need to change the data - and I would like to have the updated data in both the "source" files and the "all data" file.
Is there a way to append another Origin project file (here: a "source" file) to the "all data" file in a way that the "all data" file is updated when I change the "source" file (and maybe even vice versa, i.e. changing data in the "all data" file updates the "source" file)?
This would save me a lot of time... |

Posted - 07/11/2019 : 10:10:14 AM Dear CP,
thanks for this hint and the fast reply! I checked out the Data Connector and it brings in very useful functionality. However, in my case, for the amount of data I need in the "all data" files and the fact that there are also graphs I would need in both file types, the Data Connector is not sufficient.
So it looks like I'll have to keep appending the changed files and updating both projects whenever I change something. |

Posted - 07/11/2019 : 08:48:58 AM You can use the Origin Connector.
Starting with Origin 2019b, we introduced Data Connectors and the purpose of the Origin Connector was designed to do exactly what you are asking here, to "embed" the sheet from another Origin project to the current one.
You can read more on this blog
