Posted - 08/27/2019 : 7:22:13 PM Hello, I am new in Origin .. I am making a datalogging to monitor barometric pressure, humidity and temperature .. I have a Real Time Clock in my electronic data acquisition system ..
So, the way I am saving my data is: Date Time Pressure Temperature_1 Humidity Temperature_2 27/8/2019 17:28:37 792.51 27.59 87.80 27.20
So, when I import the ASCII file, I obtain the next:

I don't understand how Origin makes the conversion for the time.. Something like this: 17:28:37 is transformed into 0.72821
I think what it is doing is rule of three, considering that 86400 is 1 and 62917 is 0.728206 .. And then is rounding 06 to 1 .. But just to be sure, do my first post and hear suggestions, still I am going to ask it .. Thanks

Oh, yes you are right .. I got confused since I was using Origin in Windows in a Virtual Machine that was running in Ubuntu .. So, how do I learn to do scripts with Origin?

Posted - 08/31/2019 : 6:54:59 PM Also .. I noticed that atomesphere variables are periodic .. For example, the next graph shows the the variation of barometric pressure ..

Is there an option in Origin that allows you to see the frequency domain of these oscillations? Is it recommended? How do I apply FFT to the data? |

Also, do you have any suggestions of how to process and plot the gathered data?

Posted - 08/28/2019 : 2:24:59 PM In the worksheet below: col(A) -> Format: Date, Display: Custom Display - dd'/'MM'/'yyyy col(B) -> Format: Time, Display: HH:mm:ss col(C) -> Format: Date, Display: 8/29/2019 HH:mm:ss Simply adding col(A) and col(B) will get the full date and time. If you want to check the Julian Date numeric value, you can change the format of col(C) to numeric.

Hi, Looks like your col(B) contains Julian time format. Slelect col(B) -> right click -> Proprties... -> Format: Time Display: HH.mm.ss Regards,
Nikolay
But, then, how do I go back to Julian Time Format?

How do I also include the date? I mean, 27/8/2019 17:28:37 as a whole Julian Time Format |

Posted - 08/28/2019 : 01:34:19 AM Hi,
I tried to copy your data to a txt file and then import it to Origin 2019b. There won't be any problem.

Could you let me know what version of Origin your are running?
However, you should be able to manually to update the column format to display hour format by steps below 1. Double click column B to open the Column Property dialog 2. Change "Format" = "Time" and "Display" = "HH:mm"
Thanks, Echo OriginLab Technical Service
