Hi,

I have been wanting for a while to perform complex fitting with Origin. Thanks to the available online resources, I have established the correct fitting function and ascribed y1 and y2 to the real and imaginary parts of the complex fit function.
The dielectric data I want to fit need to be represented in log-log plots. In the picture below, we can see that I was able to display the fitting graphs in log-log scales (inside the nonlinear curve fitting window).

My problem is that after each iteration, the scales are reset (see picture below). One of the graphs remains log-log and is rescaled, but the second one goes back to linear scales and also gets rescaled. I then have to manually set each axis scale the way they were in the first figure to be able to evaluate the fit iteration.

This process is way too tedious to be a viable option. I have therefore been using a proprietary fitting software (to which I no longer have access...) or simply fitting either the real or the imaginary component of the signal depending on the information I wanted.

I thank you in advance for any advice regarding my fitting problem.

Best regards,

Aurelien

Hi Aurelien,

This could just be an issue in Origin 9.1. We disabled axis editing in preview window in newer versions. So would you mind sending your project file to <tech@originlab.com> that we can check and help you further. Thank you.

James
