Operating System:
HI!! I AM TRYING TO CONVERT THREE COLUMNS X,Y Z TO A RANDOM MATRIX AND THEN I WANT TO DO A 3-D SURFACE PLOT. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE FIRST STEP BECAUSE WHEN CONVERTING MY COLUMNS TO A RANDOM MATRIX A WINDOW OF ERROR APPEARS: " ERROR!FAILED TO SORT AND/OR REPLACES DUPLICATES WITH MEAN VALUE!!!"" AND I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I HAVE TRY ALL THE POSIBLE GRIDDING METHODS AND ALL OF THEM GIVES THIS ERROR. WHAT CAN I DO?¿?

The error occurs due to the mismatched data length. Just select the rows after the end of the real data (the ones with '--') and choose Edit : Delete.
The conversion should give a similar message about averaging, but will work.
There isn't a lot of data so the image is pretty crude ...

Hi,

Rather than me sending the result of gridding for just this one dataset, I suggest you download the 7.5 demo from our website and try with this and other data of yours.

If you need further help, please contact tech support.

HI
I am using the origin 7.0 version and I dont know how but now I can convert my data without the error message:). the problem is that depending on the gridding method the 3Dplot is completely different so I dont know what is the correct plot. how can i know it?¿?

can you send me your 3D plot plesae?¿
thanks!!!

Hi,

I tried your data (without the -- at the end) and it worked fine for me. I got a matrix/surface that represented the data correctly.

What version are you running? I used Origin 7.5SR5. If you have an earlier 7.5 please try getting the free SR5 patch.
