Hi,
I need to update worksheets/plots with text files that are generated from another program. At present I am doing this by waiting for the file to be generated and then dragging it with the mouse into the worksheet and letting the filter do the rest.

It is possible to use a script that checks (e.g. every 10s) for a new file at a given location and, if it finds one, automatically updates the worksheet (and associated plots). The generated files always have the identical column / row structure

Hi,

Origin introduced Data Connector in version 2019b which is exactly for your purpose. Workbook is linked to data file that the workbook gets updated when it detects the contents of data file changed. Please check below for details:
