Hi

I'm trying to fit 3 lorentz peaks to an experimental plot. Through theory I know the relative intensities of the peaks. Is there a way to related the 3 peaks so that the area's can depend upon each other.

i.e. A1=[variable]; A2=6*A1; A3=9*A1.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

You can specify constraints in the advanced NLSF curve fitting tool.

If you are performing the multiple lorentzian fit from the Analys->Filt Multi-peaks->Lorentzian menu item, at the end of the process press CTRL-Y to bring up the NLSF dialog. Go to the Options->Constraints page in the tool and enter your constraint:
A2=6*A1; A3=9*A1;
Make sure to check the "Enabled" check box and then proceed to Action->Fit page to fit with this constraint in place. You can then click Done once the fit converges to get the new result etc.
