Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 9.0.0 SR2
Operating System: Win10 Pro

Hello everyone,

I would like to substitute a few LabTalk variables into my (relatively long) SQL query, but it won't work. Still, it works if my SQL query is shorter.
I did some trial-and-error tests and apparently, LabTalk substitution in Origin 9.0 needs the SQL query to be less than 3050 bytes. However, I need to get it to work with a 3583 byte long query.

Do I have any options?

Cheers

Thanks for the info.
Is a costly upgrade to 2020b the only solution?

Yes, 2020b the buffer was 8192, and we double it for 2021.

But for your 9.0, it was 3050 right? So your SQL will definitely work in 2020b.

According to this thread (https://my.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=46209), this problem persists even in Origin 2020b.

BTW right now, I am trying to shorten my SQL query using more LabTalk substitutions. Whenever I try to preview substituted string with only 14 substitutions, Origin crashes completely. Is this a known/normal behavior?

Cheers

Newer versions of Origin, that buffer has been expended.
