Hello,

I have two plots in one graph. I want to subtract one from the other. But i have a problem. The x coordinates of my plots are not the same. Also they are not exactly equally spaced(but close). But the x coordinates are in the same region (-10 to 40). One way of doing this is interpolating both x and y coordinates for each plot. But i am not sure how to do this on Origin.

Thanks,

nalaka

There are several ways to interpolate in Origin. Look for "interpolation" or "Interpolating data" in the index of the Reference (Help>Origin) or Programming guide (Help>Programming).

HI Guys,

Yes what you guys said is right it works. Does any one know how it calculate this interpolation and the new error?

I have tried the method. It works even if the x coordinates are different in the range, number of points and value.
Yes, it interpolates automatically if necessary.

Hello again,

the way you mentioned will work if the x coordinates are the same in both data set. In my case they are not.
Is there any way to solve this problem?

thanks,

nalaka

nalaka, try Analysis > Subtract > Reference Data.
