When plotting something with some symbol character, it automatically also goes as a label, but in case of plotting, for example, with vertical line the label stays empty. I can change scatter plot to line, and get the label I would like ( horizontal colored line), but then the horizontal line stays on the plots as well, which is not necessary. How can one label data plotted with vertical line with a horizontal line, that doesn't appear on the plot?

Is there any sample somewhere you can find that can help explain the problem?
