Hi,
How do I make the "fill color" of an object (a rectangle, circle etc) transparent. I have created a rectangle in a graph layer but I could not see the data points through it.

Thanks Mr.Easwar for the prompt reply.
I have another question. How do I get the index of the datapoints inside a circle. I think its easier with a rectangle (some people have used the variables v1, v2 v3... to get the x and y limits for a rectangle directly, though this has not been documented properly).

Hi COSY,
Double-click on the drawn object to bring up the Object Properties dialog and then click on the Fill Pattern tab. Then select None from the Fill Color drop-down list.
Note that also you can simply push the object behind the data. This way you can maintain a fill color and still see your data points. To do this bring up the Object Edit toolbar (if not shown, use View->Toolbars menu item and check the box), and then select your drawn object and click the Back(data) button to push the object behind the data.
