Hi Andrey,
I see the issue you reported.
I am sorry that it seems it is a bug, the Current color should show the color that you select in the left panel. We have added this issue to our bug tracking database (ID: ORG-23688), and this is targeted to be fixed in the next version.

However Current color still stays black.
What is its purpose?
How do I change it?

Hi Andrey,
You can select a color in the left panel and then choose one of the colors from the spectrum and click Replace button to change the selected color.
