Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 9.8.200
Operating System: Windows

For a special software we are writing, we need to smooth a curve by using Lowess. All the data smoothed with Lowess produced with Origin is very different from the results we get with two independent implementation (java and javascript) of the original algorithm from W. S. Cleveland (those algorithms produce the same result).

Attached is an image which shows the different results.

We also checked the documentation about Loess/Lowess provided by Origin, but did not find anything special.

Any idea what we are doing differently respect to Origin?

Thank you

Giulio

Please check this page for the algorithm used in Origin:
