Good Morning,

I may have another tricky question for you that I cannot seem to solve that easily.

I am used to creating custom x-axis, like ticks only at specific values, named with something besides a number. Like for plotting electronic band structures. From that, I know that you can define a lot for an axis.

I'm currently stuck with a plot of different measurements. They are stacked with a certain absolute amount of stacking. Now I would like to have a tick on the right axis around the baseline of each curve that shows the name of that curve rather than a number.

I'm not sure though how to do this. The most complicated way would be to manually determine each y-value for a curve and generate a new column that has these numbers. Then tell Origin to only set ticks where these numbers are. And for the naming, I'd either have to make a vertical column again for names or, maybe the left to right naming of each curve would work, I'm not sure.

Is there an easier way to do this here?

Thank you again for all suggestions

Dear Shirley_GZ,

Thank you for your replay.
Yes, this would have been the simple way to do it.
To define both and create a custom tick for it.
I just thought that there might be a direct solution to it.

Best Regards

Hi Hydrag,

I think you can add one column to anchor the baseline of each curve, and then another column stores the names of the curves. See this simple example:

Thanks,
Shirley
