I am doing some data analysis for an experiment that I'm doing (I'm a biochem. PhD student). I want to do the following steps but I am not sure how to do it. If there is a way to do this using Origin, that would be great. Here it goes:

1- I want to calculate a series of values for the variable v using a certain equation and assumed values for a and b.

2- Then, I will plug v in another equation, call it h(t), to calculate h(t) for every v.

3- The output values for h(t) will then be convoluted with another data set, f(t), to produce g(t).

4- These calculated g(t) values will then be fit to my experimental data. The fitting will be by minimizing the sum of square of residuals through changing a and b (from step 1).

I am not sure how the convolution can be worked into this. Any advice?

Hi,

Seems you want to define a convolution function g(t) of two functions h(t) and f(t), and then fit g(t) with your data. If so, please refer to this tutorial of how to fit with convolution of two functions:
