Posted - 07/27/2022 : 10:48:51 AM Hello Origin Users,
For the following graph, is there an easy way on Origin to convert say row 1 into column 1, so convert this 4x9 graph into 9x4 graph?

Many thanks, Neena |

Just FYI that we just released Origin 2023 last week which include this feature.
There is even a youtube video to show this: https://youtu.be/vLwxwwg3Jus
Please visit Originlab.com/2023 to see other highlights and how to get it.

Posted - 08/12/2022 : 2:56:31 PM Hi Neena,
We just announced 2023 beta4 with this Direction control: Horizontal First or Vertical First in Merge Graph Windows, Merge Graphs to Layout, Arrange Layers, and Layer Management dialogs.
I sent you an email with beta build link.
Could you try and give feedback?
Best, Snow |

Posted - 08/02/2022 : 6:56:41 PM Hi Snow,
Swapping layers one by one has been very time consuming as you said. I was wondering when is the new version of Origin planned to be released?
Many thanks, Neena |

Posted - 07/27/2022 : 1:53:42 PM I jiraed it for our developer to improve for next version. ORG-25555
Right now u can only swap them manually. We have Graph: Layer Management... tool. Where u can set the arrangement from MxN to NxM, and then go to Size/Position tab to swap layers one by one which will be time consuming.
Or if u still have the original single graphs, Open Merge Graphs dialog again. click > in Graphs list and sort and adjust the graph orders based on horizonal order.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks, Snow

Posted - 07/27/2022 : 12:18:49 PM Hi Snow,
My data is not indexed, and yes it is a multi-layered graph (option 1) as you said. The arrange layer tab just arranged layers row by row when I switched into 9 x 4 as you said. Where can I find the fix you made to arrange layers column by column?
Thanks a bunch! Neena |

Posted - 07/27/2022 : 11:33:05 AM Are they multi-layer graphs in Origin?
Our Graph: Arrange Layers... & Arrangement tab of Layer Management dialogs can only switch MxN to NxM but the direction is always row by row.
I jiraed it in ORG-25555 so we can allow arrange layers directions in merge graphs, arrange layers, ... dialogs.
BTW, how are the data organized to plot the original graph. Are they indexed data so the info. are in same column, e.g. 0.01s, 0.5s, ... in one column, and P1+, P2+, ... in another column.
Then you can use Plot: Categorical: Cluster Plot to specify how to arrange rows and columns.
Thanks, Snow
