When performing batch peak analysis on large data sets I seem to be having an issue with the process / origin instance freezing mid run. While sucsessful on the smaller data sets the problem always seems to ocurre when the ram utilization gets to 2.5-3GB per origin instance. The batch peak analysis is being launched via script in the command window. To increase the processing speed I've been manually breaking up the data sets into different origin instances (usually 6 at a time) which usually take no more than 60% of cpu utilization. The run time for each data set is usually around 2-4 days. I've been unable to figure out if this is a problem originating within origin or the computer timing out a long running process though the computer is running software that should prevent a time out occurance during the run. Thanks for any help with this let me know if you'd need additional information.

Posted - 09/07/2022 : 12:40:10 PM The "Use Background instance(s)" in batch peak doesn't currently operate with a baseline "y=0" this issue was addressed in a previous forum post and a ticket was submitted. I have no issue sharing the data however the files would need to be quite a bit larger than the upload allows as small files seem to work fine.

Posted - 09/07/2022 : 11:43:17 AM Do you mind sharing some of your data and the PA theme and script so we can check what may be causing it?
There is a "Use Background instance(s) to Process" checkbox in Batch PA. Is it turned on?
Thanks, Snow |
