Origin Ver. and Service Release Origin 2023 SR0:
Operating System: windows 10

I have a strange behavior of the script window on one of our PCs.
Even if the script window is closed before closing Origin, it opens every time I start Origin.
Any idea?

Best regards,
Manfred

Hi Manfred,

Just FYI that this issue is fixed in Origin 2023b we just released.

Thanks, Snow

Hi Manfred,

@SWFS was added to make it easy to change, but the setting was actually an old one in origin.ini, so you don't really need to add that to

Preferences-->System variables

You just change it from script window, and it will automatically be remembered.

It was good that you found the reason, as we would have never thought of it since we would not add that to that dialog, as we know how worked internally.

Hi Manfred,

Thanks you for finding out how to reproduce it.

I created ORG-26094 for our developer to check.

Thanks, Snow

I found the problem.
If you set the font size via the sys variable @swfs using the Preferences-->System variables menu, the script window is forced to open when starting Origin.
This does not happen if you set @swfs in the script window itself.

This is controlled by Origin.ini in your UFF(user file folder), since many years ago.

Before you run Origin, check this file for

[Options]
ScriptWindow=0

Maybe your UFF is synced to a cloud location like OneDrive and there is some update issue? or another PC shared the same synced drive has it on?

When Script Window opened, was it empty? If there were some error outputs, it will be forced open.
