Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2021b (64-bit) SR2
Operating System: Windows 10
I have a fairly large dataset that consists of an X column followed by a series of Y and Yerr columns. I have generated one plot with the Y and Yerr as desired, but when I use the Duplicate (Batch Plotting) option with Column Offset the error columns do not shift with the Y column, irrespective of whether or not the "Use Associated X&E" checkbox is marked. Is there a simple option that I am missing that would allow me to batch plot the data with the correctly associated Yerr columns? |

EDIT: While typing this out, I identified the culprit, I haven't figured out how to correct for the issue, so I'll keep the rest of my post in. The graph that I am batch plotting includes a second group, that is based upon a different sheet (one's initial readings, one's after treatment). They are both set-up identically, the numbers are just different. If I include both groups in the graph that I am duplicating from, the error bar is not offset for either group. When I delete either of the groups, the error bar functions again. Haven't been able to find a workaround, but if I do I'll add another post
I'm also experiencing this issue. While it may have been the case that the OP improperly used column designations in their test dataset, they also mentioned that the designations were the same as their actual data set.
So while the issue may be caused by a misunderstanding of column designations, I can't figure out how I'm misusing them.
My current dataset is set-up as X-Y-Yerr-Y-Yerr-etc
As fair as I understand the page on column designations https://www.originlab.com/doc/en/Origin-Help/WksCol-SetDesignation. This should work |

I'm not entirely certain about the issue you encountered. For the original post, it appears that the user simply needs to assign the Y error column to resolve the issue.

I realized when I sent this that I had not correctly designated the columns, and doing so in the example project results in the correct result. However, the columns in my original dataset are correctly set, but the issue still remains.
It seems likely that this is a user error, so I'll play around with things to figure it out. Thanks for the assistance. |

The "Original" graph uses the 1st and second column from Book1, Book2, and Book3. The "BatchPlotDuplicate" plot is the result of right-clicking on "Original" --> Duplicate (Batch Plotting), and using the options indicated in the screenshot.
Checking the plot setup of the "BatchPlotDuplicate" figure shows the results below:
While the expected result is plotted in "ExpectedBatchPlotDuplicate", with the below x,y, and yerr.

I still couldn't reproduce the issue. I plotted col(C) as Y and col(D) as Yerr from three workbooks, then duplicate the graph with col(E) with the following settings. Then col(F) is properly set as the Yerr column. Can you double-check if the settings are the same as below.

No, rather what happens is the Yerr column that was selected in the original graph is used for all of the batch plotted graphs. I have attached a few screenshots of what this looks like, vs what I expect.

Are you saying for your original plot the y column is from one sheet and the error column is from another, which causes the issue? |

Here's some further information as I've played around with things.
If the original plot only uses columns from a single worksheet, the associated error columns are correctly assigned, but if I am plotting from multiple worksheets, it seems the error columns are fixed to what the original columns are. |

I currently have it set up as an X X2 Y2 Yerr Y2 Yerr ... system, screenshot attached.

Is the column designation of the worksheet X,Y,Yerr,Y,Yerr,...? If so, then duplicating the graph with "Use Associated X&E" checked should work. Could you attach a screenshot of the worksheet, or share your project file? Thank you.
