Hello everybody
I have a problem with the displaying of a line diagram and I am currently stuck. My line curve first rises and then shows strong jumps (see picture in the attachment). I would like to make two changes:
1) I would like to show only the line up to the maximum value as a solid line and show the progression after that by a dashed line. If this is not possible, I would like to delete everything after the maximum value. Do I have to disconnect the line somehow?
2) I would like to smooth the curve up to the maximum value by the upper values. Which function do I use best for this?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Posted - 05/09/2023 : 12:20:55 PM Please check the attached project file. You could use menu Gadgets->Quick Peaks... to find the peaks on the curve. Then you can either connect those peaks or do a curve fitting to get the trend curve.
In Book1, I added col(C) as the line style column (1 = solid, 2 = dashed). Double-click on the line on the graph, and you could see the line style is referring to that column.

Posted - 05/08/2023 : 12:18:00 PM Thanks for your help. But unfortunately, non of your recommendations works (or I do not know how to apply them correct)
For your second advice f.e. regardless how many smoothing points I choese, it just gets worse and worse by increasing the number (picture)

Posted - 05/08/2023 : 11:15:38 AM 1) If you double-click on the line to open the Plot Details dialog. Under the Line tab, you can set the Style to Line, Dash, or refer to a column. You can add a new column to the worksheet as line style, and have the line style refer to that column.
2) For smoothing, you can probably use this envelope tool. https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Envelope
