Hi,
I am pretty sure that I have watched a tutorial about it but I cannot find it anymore. The problem is that I have data organized as a XYZ but there are only a few points. I can generate more as I have Z=f(X,Y) function. As I remembered I need to convert the sheet to the matrix and then create 3D graph. But it does not work. How to generate a matrix for a 3D color map?

The second question is connected with this problem, and ref. to this video https://youtu.be/w75UD-gzLJM. I tried to organize the data in sheet X - column, Y in the user row, and Z in cols B-K. Unfortunately, I have a function Z=f(X,Y) but I could not find a way to reference in cell value to the value stored in a "user row". Is it possible to reference the value stored in a user row in a cell formula?

Please find the exemplary workbook attached. There are 2 sheets:
1. With data organized as XYZ (X:5-35 min, Y:0-10% and Z=f(X,Y))
2. Data organized as in the tutorial.

Hello,

Yes, you can add a Break to add extra space at the bottom.
For the bottom surface, you can go to the Colormap Tab and click on the Line column and select Link Line to Colormap Color.
Once the color is linked and set, you can unlink them again and set the entire colormap to some other color. In the example, it is set to white.

Hi again,
I would like to ask you if it is possible to set the graph like this one:

Add extra space between the bottom and start of axis and color the lines on the bottom surface in accordance to color map.

Kind regards,
Dominik

I have a problem with this function:

Z=84,14167+0.042420*P-0.046508*U-0.000059*P^2
P:50-550
U:0-100

I have got a linear surface whereas it is non-linear.

Besides, it is possible to duplicate the surface graph with the indicated matrix?

Kind regards,
Dominik

Hi,
Thank you very much! I almost catch it. So if I have x:5-35 and y:0-100 I need to set matrix dimension to 31x101, and define i+4 (1+4 = 5) and j-1 (1-1 = 0) for the first value? Next one goes automatically. Am I right?

Sincerely yours,
Dominik

Dominik

Hello Dominik,

Since you already have the function, you can use the Set Matrix Values to generate a matrix of data.

See the attached.

1. Create a new Matrix Sheet
2. Matrix: Set Dimension/Labels and adjust matrix size
3. Go to Matrix: Set Values
4. Enter the expression:
62.06548+1.65833*(i+4)+0.472500*(j-1)
5. With the Matrix activated, go to Plot>3D>3D Colormap Surface.

Best,
Chao
