Hi,
I would like to add a gap in the horizontal axis in a population plot (see arrow on attached image). Does anyone know if it is possible?
Thanks! |

Posted - 08/09/2023 : 10:52:50 PM Hi, Another simple solution, 1. you can set all X column in worksheet to be Y, then plot population plot, so X will be autoX, so you do not need to set panel to get bars side by side. 2. Set subset by column E(Type) and gap between subsets=10 for both plots. So you do not need axis break for such case. 3. set tick label with 1 row table, display type is tick indexed dataset, dataset name is column B(Maker). In the end of table tab, select Gap between subgroups/subsets. It will add gap to table. See the result in attached project. https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/Diagram%20Origin_GaptoTable.opju

Posted - 08/09/2023 : 10:09:31 AM Another workaround is add an axis break from 9.45 to 9.55 (the range should be very close to 9.5) so that it will not remove any plots.

Then click on the break on left and right side respectively and use mini toolbar to make the gap big and break symbol to plain.

There is a gap on left axis. Is it OK? See the attached opju. https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/Diagram%20Origin_mod.opju

Posted - 08/09/2023 : 09:03:38 AM Please check the attached project file. You can set all columns to Y, and make the population diagram, the 2 columns of Ys will be plotted against the row number. https://my.originlab.com/ftp/forum_and_kbase/Images/Diagram%20Origin_YM.opju

If still doesn't work, could you share your project file?

Posted - 08/08/2023 : 1:56:35 PM Thanks! Now I updated, but the feature is "blocked".. maybe because I have several subsets and already used a horizontal panel..
Any other suggestions? :-) |

Posted - 08/08/2023 : 11:14:33 AM Hello,
That feature was added in Origin 2022. https://www.originlab.com/ReleaseNotes/detail.aspx?id=20223ORG-23775
Could you update your Origin? www.originlab.com/myOriginDownload

Posted - 08/08/2023 : 09:58:43 AM That would be great! But how do you get the subset column? I don't see that part in my plot properties |

Posted - 08/08/2023 : 09:35:23 AM Could you set the spacing to a subgroup by a column?
