Greetings,
I'm trying to create a radar plot. When I use the same scale for all axes, it looks fine (the upper graph in the attached image). However, when I try to rescale each axis independently, the plot doesn’t look proper, especially the filled area (the bottom graph in the image). Could you please suggest how I can fix this?

Hello Chiran,

Thank you for reaching out. The axis labels on the radar plot can be tricky as it is easy to make the figure feel crowded. Let me go over some options to resolve this.

Within the Axis Settings dialog, after allowing each axis to rescale independently, it may be necessary to go to the [Scale] tab and uncheck "Use Same Options for All Axes" to achieve the appearance you are looking for (A).

Returning to your graph, clicking on the axis labels brings up the Mini Toolbar (B) which can be used to make changes to the Font and Size of any axis labels. These changes can then be sent to the other axes (C).

Of course, if you want your graph to appear as it does in your upper image (Graph 2), then you can simply use the "Hide" button from the Mini Toolbar.

If you do want axis labels, you may want to make the Display changes shown in (E). These affect which objects are drawn "on top", so can impact the overall appearance of the graph.

You can find more information about the Axes of Radar Plots in our documentation: https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Radar-Axes-Dialog
We also have a video showing some examples: https://www.originlab.com/videos/details.aspx?pid=1813

Let me know if you are able to create a graph you are happy with, as there are many approaches to creating a clean-looking graph.

Best,

Nicholas G.
