Whenever one uses the Insert\Image from Image Window the function (insertImg2g???) checks the Graph\Layer\Size\Link Axes Length to scale box.
This modifies the existing graph layer such that it is sometimes off the page and/or covering another layer.
How can I modify the function to NOT check that box?

Good morning greg,
We have just taken a look and I believe I see what you mean. Tell me if I am understanding you correctly:
-- When inserting an image to a graph, there is this dialog:
-- The option in red helps to make the image and graph fit together when checked, and you are pointing out that it forces this option to be active in the resulting Plot Details:
And so you are suggesting to add an option for the first dialog so user can decide if [graph resizes to fit image] vs. [image resizes to fit graph].
Am I understanding correctly?
