Posted - 04/23/2025 : 05:30:55 AM I’m new to Origin and still getting the hang of things. I have a graph with multiple plots, and I want to customize the X-axis labels so that each plot can show a different set of labels, or at least control how the labels appear depending on the dataset.
Right now, it seems like the X-axis labels are shared globally, and I can’t figure out how to manage them separately or even format them differently per plot. Is there a way to do that? |

Posted - 04/23/2025 : 08:48:35 AM Hello,
Do you mean axis tick labels or the axis title?
I suppose you meant axis tick labels. Anyway, I suppose you plotted a multi-panel (multi-layer) graph and 2 settings can block you from editing each axis labels.
1. Choose Format: Page... Go to Layers tab. If "Axis Style" and "Axis Scale" are checked, editing one axis will affect others. Uncheck them.
2. Still in the same dialog, choose Layer2, 3, ... nodes (except layer1) respectively and go to Link Axes Scales tab. Check if X Axis Link is set to Straight (1:1), Align or Custom so certain relations must be kept. Set to None.
Then check if u can customize axis tick labels for each panel (layer) of the graph.
Thanks, Snow
