It's probably a dumb question but does anyone know how to assign a worksheet colum as the Z-error in a 3D (XYZ) graph?

The menu has ony the X and Y error assignment ... probably there is a reason and a workaround for this issue but it's eluding me quite succesfully ...

Thanks,
dan

Hi Laurie,

The graph needs to be 3D it would make the data much more comprehensible that a 2D graph. What I have to plot is a physical value (let’s say temperature) T with its corresponding error as a function of the day ( 1,2,... 10) when it was taken and as a function of the place where it was taken ( 1,2..6).I assigned these two latter variables as X and Y and the temperature(T) as Z. There are no errors associated with the day and place.

What would you suggest in this case ?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Never a dumb question. Origin doesn't support Z-errors. Could you plot your data on a double-Y axis plot instead? Does it need to be 3D?

Laurie
