Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2026 PRO Operating System: W11 Pro Hi, The meaning and operation of short and long names is somewhat confusing to me. The existence of a third parameter, simply defined as "Name," makes things more difficult. I've noticed that short names don't allow all the characters (e.g., parentheses) that long names allow. However, it's not entirely clear to me how the names are mutually exclusive. For example, in a folder, I have a workbook with the long name DR-t (short name "Book10"). I also have a chart with the short name DR-t (no long name). I would like to do the same for another workbook-graph pair and name it DR-MR. Unfortunately, when I try to assign the short name "DR-MR," I get this window. What's the deal with these names, and why do we need the additional "Name" property? How can I control this? Kind regards, Dominik
