Origin Version 6,1
Operating System: Windows XP

Hi,

I have two layers in a graph window. Every layer has a plot. I need to zoom in only one plot, but the zoom function works in both layers. is there any option to zoom in only one layer?

Thanks a lot,

Maria

Hi Maria,

The Scroll toolbar setup doesn't work well in Origin 6.1. You have the necessary files but need to perform the following steps to create the toolbar...

1. Close Origin and open Origin.ini in Notepad.
2. Add the key Scroll=Scroll.ini to the bottom of the [UserDefinedButtons] section.
3. Save and close Origin.ini and start Origin.
4. Enter the command system.toolbar.create(Scroll) in the script window.

Hi Mike,

I tried to install the toolbar but it did not work, it seems to require something else, the error message is: "C:\Programm\Origin61\OPack.Ini does not exist". Is it neccesary to install it in a specif directory?

Thanks a lot,

Maria

Hi Maria,

It does appear that the Zoom tool in Origin 6.1 will not zoom layers independently. (Origin 7.0 and 7.5 do not have that problem.) However, you should be able to accomplish what you want with the Scroll and Zoom toolbar from the File Exchange. Use the X (or Y) Zoom in button to set the X (or Y) display range and center the display with the Scroll buttons. This will act only on the active layer.
