Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:
When selecting the check-box "autoupdate" in "set column values",It sometimes (not always) give a warnning box telling me that a circular reference was contained even though a number is put in it. Could anyone help me with this? Thank u!

There is no patch for 7.5 now because our developers are busying with the release for the new version 8.0.

Sorry, I didn't find your mail in that mailbox.

But it has been reported that similar problem has appeared by other users, which has been added in our databases. I think it will be fixed for the next version.

Thanks for your posts.

Ok,a sample has sent to you. In this case, the values of column A and B are set to equal their row numbers, column C equals "A+B". After adding two extra column (D and F) and let them move foward, the "autoupdate" of column C no longer works.

Thank you!

Thank you for your kind explanation. I have checked the formula many times and I am sure that no circilar reference is contained. If a circular reference is contained, it should give the warnning box every time. It may be all right at beginning, but jumps the box after a column value is changed or even nothing changes .

Here is a most simple example why it will occur:
If you set column values of col(a) as col(b)+1 and select the check-box "autoupdate". Meanwhile, you set the values of col(b) as col(a)+1 and also select the check-box. Then you can image what will happen if the autoupdating takes effects. So there will give out a warning box.

Of course, your real operation is not so simple. But it must be something alike. Hope my explanation can do some help for your understanding of this problem.
