I would like to know what the option "points" in the Settings tab for the linear fit exactly means. Is this the number of data points used for the fitting curve? Like when I have 50 data points and I type 20, the fitting routine only uses 20 data points (and then the first 20?)?

Kind regards,

Hi Patric,

That control decides how many points there will be in the fit curve that is generated. So if it is 20 for example, the fit curve will be computed at 20 x values. The Range Margin control decides what x to being and end with. If that is set to 0, then you will get 20 points starting from first x value of the data to last x value of the data.
