Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5 SR2
Operating System: Win XP

Hi all,

since shortly I have a problem with running a script in Origin. I didn't find the reason yet, but I think it's related to something I have never seen before in Origin: a kind of padlock-symbol appears in the column label and it is impossible to delete data from this column. I don't know how I "locked" the column nor do I know how to unlock it - can anyone help me?

Greetings,

Thomas

Hi Mike,

thanks for the quick answer. In fact the autoupdate-box was NOT marked and there was no function in the set-value window. Even when I checked the update-box, closed the window, and reopened it, it still remained unchecked.

However, your hint was useful to me anyway: I inserted a test function into the set-values-window, ran it, re-opened the menu, deleted the function, unchecked autoupdate - and now it works...

Is this a miracle or a bug? ;)

Anyway, since it works now, I'm glad - thanks a lot!

Greetings,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The padlock icon means that the column has a "Set Column Values" formula with AutoUpdate enabled. To remove the lock select the column, choose Set Column Values on the context menu and uncheck the AutoUpdate box.
