I often store many single associated raw data files together in one project file (*.opj), but tend to use Excel spreadsheets as well for aggregating information from different sources. One very nice thing about Excel is that these files can be indexed (by google desktop search, copernic, etc.). Even with an organized file system and xplorer2, it is often faster to find files using desktop search applications. Does anyone know of a desktop search application that can be forced to index *.opj files? It would be very convenient to be able to search for a text string that is found in the column name, column header, notes page, or elsewhere. For some datasets I have used a work-around, using a batch origin script to pull the pertinent info out of origin files and then thrown it all in a big Excel file (which is then indexed), but this is a pain and obviously doesn’t update automatically.
Thanks, Kevin
