Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5
Operating System: Win XP

Hi, I'm having some trouble. I firstly wanted to uninstall Origin 7.5 and re-install it, so I went to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel and tried it this way. It spat a ctor.dll runtime error at me, so after some reading I downloaded ctor.dll and placed it in the appropriate directory. I went back to remove it and Origin 7.5 setup gave me the following error:

Setup failed to run installation:

ClassFactory cannot supply requested class.

So I decided to re-install over the existing installation and was met by the same error when starting setup from the installation CD. I tried another CD and got the same error.

This is odd because about a month ago I re-installed Origin on this very same computer.

Has anyone got any experience of this error?

Hi,

It looks like something wrong with your InstallShild. You can try to reinstall the InstallShield engine or manually register the ctor.dll. This link from InstallShield website gives the details on how to do these: http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q110609 .
Give a try and tell us the outcome.
